Blood Bank Order
A completed Storyline module focused on the Cerner blood bank ordering workflow.
I designed and developed training for Cerner clinical workflows in Storyline. The completed Blood Bank Order module lets learners choose how much guidance they need and uses numbered prompts to guide them through the ordering steps.
The Blood Bank Order module turned a multi-screen Cerner process into structured Storyline practice. Learners could choose how much support they wanted, then follow numbered guidance through the ordering sequence.
Tools used: Storyline
A completed Storyline module focused on the Cerner blood bank ordering workflow.
Learners chose a level of support and followed numbered prompts through the system screens.
Related EHR training was part of the broader Cerner project. The completed work shown here is the Blood Bank Order module.
The module used Cerner screen captures, numbered cues, and Storyline layers to direct attention to the next action while preserving the surrounding workflow.
The training calls attention to the blood-product decision inside a dense Cerner screen rather than separating the decision from the workflow.
Numbered prompts show learners which fields to complete on each screen.
The sequence continues into later order-entry decisions, following the workflow across multiple screens rather than stopping after orientation.
The opening offers “Show me how,” “Let me try on my own,” and “I know how to do it.”
Numbered markers point learners to the next action within the Cerner screen.
The module moves into later order-entry fields and decisions instead of ending with a single annotated screen.
The broader project also included related EHR training development. This case study focuses on the completed Blood Bank Order module.
I design systems training that lets people practice the steps they need to use at work.
